MAARIKA SAARELAHT

I have been an official ceramist since 2008, when I graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a degree in ceramics.

I like to experiment with clay masses and glazes and combine different techniques. By constantly experimenting, I keep my work playful, so that it would be interesting to create and each result would be unique. I love the randomness and unique beauty in the finished objects.

Clay as a material is an endless source of inspiration, so many opportunities for exploration and experimentation.

I have been teaching ceramic courses and workshops for 16 years. In addition to teaching courses, I am a teacher at the Olustvere School of Service and Rural Economics, where I teach future ceramists the basics of ceramics, history and material studies.
